The Stan Lee Resurrection
16th April 2006
|
16th April 2006 - Adding artwork contributed by Eivind
|
| Began adding the pictures and artwork contributed by Eivind (ages ago). |
|
15th April 2006 - Added final two webisodes of the 7th Portal
|
| Added the final 2 webisodes of the 7th Portal series. They're in Apple's Quicktime format rather than Flash (no choice, sorry), but they still look ok. About 20MB in size each though. |
|
14th April 2006 - Small cleanups
|
Occasionally people have emailed in, asking if/when the broken links and such will be fixed.
Answer: Just did it. :)
(Hey, it's only taken 4 years to get around to!) |
|
26th March 2002 - The next "How
to Write Webisodes" article, part 2 of the series, is available!
|
|
I doubt anyone who knows of Andrew Baker
could doubt his mastery of the webisode writing process, with a long list of credits
including working at Stan Lee Media on the 7th Portal, The Accuser and The Backstreet
Project.
Andy has done it again, writing an outstanding article for aspiring webisode-writers.
This time he gets very practical, showing what a webisode script is like "on
paper", what the differences are between webisode scripts and normal scriptwriting,
plus some of the secrets of getting webisode lengths and timing correct!
If you want to become very, very good at writing and scripting webisodes you
can't afford to pass up this great article
from a master of the craft!

|
25th March 2002 - Drifter webisodes removed
|
| We've received information that the Drifter webisodes
weren't officially released by Stan Lee Media after all. They hadn't been officially
released before the bankruptcy, so to avoid any possible sticky situations we've
removed the files. |
|
21st March 2002 - Awesome site to check out
|
| Nathan Jurevicius has
a really cool site with some of the best Flash animation I've ever seen. If
you love great storytelling you won't want to miss this. |
|
13th January 2002 - Should we create Flash tools?
|
|
Several people have asked about tools for creating Flash animations which are
cheaper than Macromedia Flash, and work on Linux.
There don't seem to be any.
So, I'm thinking about starting a project for a GUI for Linux coded in C or
C++, to create Flash animations. There are several libraries available we can
use, which are already available.
If you're interested in joining in, please email
me!
We need people with the following skills :
- Team leader - technical skills
- GUI Interface designers
- Coders (C/C++)
We'll probably use the QT3 toolkit, so there will potentially be cross-platform
work done, and hopefully platform-dependant assembler optimisations in the future.

12th January 2002 - Accuser webisodes fixed, new 7th Portal Swimsuit
Edition pics, Spiderman "Doom Control" added, Slam Girl added (and she's
awesome)
|
|
I've been really sick for the last 2 months, and so the site became pretty
sick too. Now I'm mostly better and I've uploaded all The
Accuser webisodes which had stopped working.
The Slam Girl webisode is here too, as are three of the Spiderman
"Doom Control" series. Thanks to The
Vault Project for finding Slam Girl for us!
Also, one of our friends Mac
has contributed 39 more 7th Portal Swimsuit Edition pictures which he had on his
hard drive! You can get them from here.
If anyone has any more of the Spiderman "Doom Control" series, please
email me!
|
|
21st October 2001 - "How to Write a Webisode" article available
|
|
Andrew Baker, one of the staff writers at the now defunct Stan Lee Media, has written an introductory article (hopefully the first of a series) on how to write scripts for Webisodes. This is a must read for all script writers who want to begin writing webisode scripts.
|
|
18th October 2001 - 7th Portal picture "Vultura" available
|
|
Rand has contributed one of the 7th
Portal pictures, now available here. If anyone else has more of these or the
playing cards, please email them in!
|
|
9th October 2001
|
|
One of our friends Laike, as well as offering to assist in scriptwriting, was kind enough to point out the links to the new Accuser episodes were broken.
These have been fixed, so all you Accuser fans can now check out the rest of the series. We might want to think about continuing on with this series ourselves too!
On a side note, I've downloaded SWiSH 2.0 (a Flash animation program) and started going through the tutorials. It's REALLY easy to use and do cool stuff with, so if anyone wants to get into Flash, I recommend it. :)
If anyone can do decent cartoon pictures (I'm no good at drawing) of people
and stuff, could they please email me a few? I need something to practise with...
:)

7th October 2001
|
|
We now have a discussion forum where people can take a look at the ideas for continuing on the BackStreet Project series, and suggest things themselves, offer advice, etc.
You'll find it here.
|
|
7th October 2001
|
|
Several people have asked if there will be new episodes of The Backstreet Project. Sadly, this will not be the case unless some of us get together and create them ourselves.
So, if you would like to join in and have any of these skills (or would like
the opportunity to learn the skills and make them useful) people email me :
- Script writing
- Drawing/Illustrating/Storyboarding
- Flash Animation
- Sound recording/editing
- Music composition
- A good voice, suited for being recorded!
- Pure enthusiasm :)
If enough of us help with whatever we can do, we can get a team together and do something awesome and positive!

|
The start
|
|
Over the next few months this site will become a center for beginning and developing online comic artists to communicate, share, create and download material, tools, source libraries, etc.
To start with we have some of the material from the defunct Stan Lee Media series' The 7th Portal, Evil Clone, The Accuser, and The Backstreet Project.
More will be added as people contribute. Please join
in, email links to articles, tools, things you have done, etc!
